Custom Countertops and Backsplash Installation

Expert installation of quartz, granite, and marble countertops plus custom tile backsplash design and installation.

Tired of These Frustrations?

If any of this sounds familiar, you are in the right place.

Uncertain Quality

Big-box stores and online options make it hard to know if the flooring you choose will actually look good and last in your home.

Weeks-Long Timelines

Other contractors string projects out for weeks. We complete most flooring installations in three days so you can enjoy your new floors sooner.

Contractor Horror Stories

Missed deadlines, hidden fees, and sloppy work are common in the industry. We communicate at every step and deliver on our promises.

Upgrade your kitchen or bathroom surfaces with professional countertop and backsplash installation from Zona Floors. We work with quartz, granite, marble, and other premium stone materials to deliver surfaces that are both beautiful and built to last. Our tile specialists also create custom backsplash designs — from classic subway patterns to intricate mosaic accent walls.

Countertop Installation

A new countertop is one of the highest-impact upgrades you can make in a kitchen or bathroom. At Zona Floors, we guide you through the complete process from material selection to final installation.

Material Options

Quartz is our most installed countertop material, and for good reason. Engineered quartz from brands like Caesarstone, Silestone, and Cambria combines crushed natural quartz with resin binders to create a surface that is:

  • Non-porous — no sealing required, ever
  • Stain-resistant — coffee, wine, and cooking oils wipe clean
  • Scratch-resistant — harder than granite
  • Consistent — uniform colors and patterns without the natural variation of stone
  • Available in hundreds of designs — from pure whites to patterns that closely replicate the look of marble or concrete

Granite remains a premium natural stone choice. Every granite slab is unique, with distinctive veining, crystals, and color depth that cannot be replicated. Granite handles heat better than quartz (you can set hot pans directly on it) and develops character over time. It does require annual sealing to maintain its stain resistance. To understand how these two materials compare across durability, maintenance, and cost, read our quartz vs. granite countertops guide for Arizona kitchens.

Marble offers unmatched elegance with soft veining and luminous surface quality. Marble is porous and softer than granite or quartz, so it requires more maintenance and is susceptible to etching from acidic foods and cleaners. We recommend marble for homeowners who love the aesthetic and are comfortable with the upkeep.

Soapstone is a dense, non-porous natural stone with a smooth, matte finish. It is naturally resistant to bacteria and heat, making it a practical choice for kitchens. Soapstone darkens naturally over time, developing a rich patina.

Our Countertop Process

  1. Consultation — We discuss material options, visit showrooms if needed, and help you choose a stone that fits your style and budget
  2. Templating — Once your stone is selected, we visit your kitchen to create precise laser measurements of your cabinet layout, including cutouts for sinks, cooktops, and faucets
  3. Fabrication — Our fabrication partners cut, shape, and polish your stone based on our templates (typically 5-10 business days)
  4. Installation — We carefully deliver and install the countertop, level it, secure it, seal seams, and connect your sink and faucet
  5. Edge profiles — Choose from eased, beveled, bullnose, ogee, or waterfall edges. Seam placement is planned for the least visible locations

Custom Tile Backsplash

A tile backsplash adds texture, color, and personality to your kitchen. We install every backsplash style:

  • Subway tile — timeless and versatile, available in classic white, colors, and beveled finishes
  • Herringbone — diagonal V-pattern creates dynamic visual interest
  • Mosaic — small tiles in glass, stone, or ceramic create intricate patterns
  • Large-format — bigger tiles mean fewer grout lines for a minimal, modern look
  • Stacked bond — tiles aligned in a grid rather than staggered, popular in contemporary designs

We work with tile from top manufacturers including Daltile and MSI Surfaces. During your consultation, we help select tile style, size, color, and grout color to complement your countertops and cabinets.

Standalone Projects Welcome

You do not need a full kitchen remodel to upgrade your surfaces. We frequently install:

  • New countertops on existing cabinets
  • New backsplash behind existing countertops
  • Bathroom vanity countertops as standalone projects

What Our Customers Say

"The quartz countertops Zona installed are gorgeous. The templating was perfect — the seams are almost invisible. They also did a beautiful subway tile backsplash. Very professional from start to finish."

Frequently Asked Questions

What countertop materials do you install?
We install quartz (Caesarstone, Silestone, Cambria), granite, marble, soapstone, and other natural and engineered stone. We do not install laminate or butcher block countertops.
How long does countertop installation take?
Countertop templating is done in one visit. After fabrication (typically 5-10 business days), installation usually takes one day. Backsplash adds 1-2 additional days.
Do you install countertops in bathrooms too?
Yes. We install vanity countertops in bathrooms using the same materials and precision as kitchen countertops.
What edge profiles are available?
Common options include eased (straight with slightly rounded top), beveled, bullnose (fully rounded), ogee (S-curve), and waterfall (stone continues down the side of the island). We help you choose the right profile for your style.
Can you do a backsplash without replacing countertops?
Yes. Many homeowners update just the backsplash while keeping existing countertops. We can install a new tile backsplash as a standalone project.
